Kowloon Junior School (KJS) is a very large, well-established five form entry international primary school catering for 900 students from Year 1 to Year 6. KJS is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and is an IB World School. Teaching and learning at KJS is rich in inquiry and underpinned by a rigorous approach to pedagogy and practice.

KJS is part of the Kowloon Learning Campus (KLC), enabling us to work together with colleagues in our neighbouring schools, King George V and Jockey Club Sarah Roe, thus benefitting from the shared knowledge and resources of our secondary and special school colleagues. General Description of KJS

Kowloon Junior School (KJS) is part of English Schools Foundation (ESF), the largest provider of English-medium international education in Hong Kong. Working closely with our partner schools, King George V and Jockey Club Sarah Roe, in the new Kowloon Learning Campus, KJS is one of the ESF primary schools serving students in Hong Kong and is a primary school for 900 children from 5 to 11 years.

Our school accommodates up to 30 classes, 5 classes at each year level and the maximum class size is 30 pupils. To assist each child to develop to their full potential in all areas, a balanced programme of academic, social, physical and cultural activities is offered at KJS.

All of the classrooms have interactive whiteboards, access to a bank of laptop computers and full wireless connectivity.

The current staff are outstanding educators. Whilst they originally hail from UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada or American, many have been in Hong Kong for many years.

Hong Kong culture values education and at KJS, parents are very supportive. The students are wonderful and the staff are amazing. It is a wonderful place to teach.

KJS is looking for enthusiastic and experienced classroom teachers to join us from 12 August 2016 (one vacancy) and 3 January 2017 (two vacancies).

The successful candidates will be a talented and accomplished primary teacher with the required knowledge, skills and understanding to work closely with an experienced team of educators, dedicated to catering for the needs of all children in their care. They will have an excellent understanding of the Primary Years Programme. In addition to being an exemplar practitioner and excellent team player, the successful candidate will have a warm personality coupled with strong interpersonal skills.

SEN Leader (Application closed)

An exciting opportunity has arisen at KJS for an enthusiastic and experienced leader to lead our SEN team from January 2017. It will be either a temporary two-term contract until June 2017, or one year & two-term contract until August 2018.

For the SEN leadership post, you must be a qualified primary teacher with recent experience demonstrating the required knowledge, skills and experience of leading a special education team in order to successfully lead an enthusiastic and knowledgeable team of teachers, educational assistants and therapists.

We are proud to be a PYP school and would expect all candidates to have experience and understanding of the Primary Years Programme.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic and energetic individual, who loves working with children. We are looking for someone who sets very high expectations of themselves and others, is highly organized and evidence driven.

A warm personality coupled with strong interpersonal skills is essential for this position.

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Kowloon Junior School (KJS) for an enthusiastic and experienced Librarian to join us from 12 August 2016.

Apart from being an experienced librarian with a recognised library qualification, you will also be someone who has a love of books and be sufficiently well read to be able to recommend appropriate reading materials to both students and adults. You will feel confident and comfortable working with groups of children & adults across the primary phase, be a good communicator and be passionate about learning.
